A two-month cruise around Australia has been cancelled days after the death of an elderly woman who was abandoned by the vessel on a distant coastal location.

The elderly woman had been walking on Lizard Island with other travelers from the vessel, but parted ways from the excursion for a pause. The vessel departed without her and went back after some time after the personnel discovered the lady was not present.

An extensive hunt discovered her body the next day.

Investigative bodies are looking into the tragedy, in coordination with law enforcement and the official investigator.

Head of the shipping company stated that passengers and personnel on the Coral Adventurer were informed that the continuation of the cruise had been called off due to the "unfortunate death and prior engine troubles".
